Great get together of old members and some visitors that are now new members and we welcome you all.  We had the opportunity to shake hands with our sister club, the Santa Clara Valley Koi & Water Club and look forward to future mingling.

Heads up to anyone looking for fish for your pond, we have a couple recent posts in the Forum about Rescue and Adooption.

In a nutshell...we had a great couple hours mingling and catching up.  The koi pond  at the Hayward Japanese Gardens certainly needs some work.  Maybe at another time we could revisit how we could help make it better.

Wow, a lot has happened in our first week on the web.  Things are going marvelous.    Thrilled to see people actually using the website to touch base with long lost members.

Our Forum has 3 pinned IMPORTANT Topics that should prove useful:

    First is KOI BAZAAR -Buy-Sell-Trade-Free
Use this Topic thread to post about:  Items you are looking to Buy, looking to Sell and items you are willing to Trade or Offer for Free

Second is Koi RESCUE & ADOPTION
Use this Topic thread to post about:  Koi fish that are needing to be Rescued and those are able to Adopt.

Use this thread to suggest content for Newsletters and Website content.  Also to suggest anything that can help make our club more valuable to you.

    2)  Koi USA magazine %Discount is about to come online.

    3)  Koi Enthusiasts now have expanded profile info.  All levels of membership have the ability to upload a profile pic and to upload personal pics to photo albums in your profile.

    4)  The websites automated system
should be sending out a really cordial invite to our upcoming Meeting Event to anyone who did not RSVP, by Registering online for Free.
(Using the Event Register button, gives our host a general head count of attendees.  This will become really important in the future, as we grow.)

If you do Register, you will receive a cordial reminder 3 days before the event.

    Yours in Koi-

Greetings Members, our former domain is tied up in internet red tape limbo.  We are still the same initials SFBAKC.org but expanded to SFBayAreaKoiClub.org.

In an effort to increase our web presence as a premier koi organization here in the SF Bay Area, the club officers have supported this domain name change and we are moving forward with excitement.

New content is in the works, so check back often.  As of 10:00am you can Comment and share your thoughts.

    Yours in Koi-

The Board of Directors of the SF Bay Area Koi Club

P.S.  This mornings first email did not contain all the web links to our site so I sent out a second. Sorry 'bout that.

Eight of us members traveled to Koi Enterprise in West Sacramento and we met with Tony Quintero.  He is an extremely knowledgeable new generation of koi keepers.  His facility and business is top drawer.  Koi Enterprise has a stunning selection of Japanese Koi.  We had great conversation and learned alot.

We got up and close with adding Islandscapes.  Which is a great way to add plants to a pond without ledges or ponds with large fish that eat any plant material.
